- Mt. Morris Fire Responds to 420 Hill St. for a Possible Structure Fire -

On May 12, 2008 the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District received an alarm for smoke in a residence.  Upon Chief Hough's arrival he found a single story home full of smoke.  M.A.B.A.S. Box 18 was pulled to the Box level bringing in a truck from Byron, a squad from Oregon, and a R.I.T. Team from Polo.  Engine Co. 5702 and Truck Co.  5759 arrived and crews found a pot on the stove that was being used for cooking and had been forgotten.  There was no damage to the residence and the homeowner was able to return to their home after fire crews ventilated the home.  Companies picked up and returned to quarters.
