- Mt. Morris Fire Awarded 2004 Fire Act Grant -
The
Mt. Morris Fire Protection District, Mt. Morris, IL has been awarded a 2004 Fire
Act Grant from the Department of Homeland Security. The $111,700 dollars
($11,170 local share and $100,170 Federal share) will be used to purchase new
self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for firefighters. The new
SCBA will be lighter more ergonomically friendly and weight substantially less
than the District’s current SCBA. All of these updates will put lees stress on
the firefighters while performing their already arduous task. The grant will
also replace the District’s current breathing air compressor that is nearing
25 years old.
