- Mt. Morris Fire Responds to 6098 W. West Grove Rd. for a Structure Fire -
On May 8, 2011 Mt. Morris Fire responded to a report of thick black smoke coming from a residence at 6098 W. West Grove Rd. Upon arriving fire companies found a two story wood frame structure with heavy black smoke and fire to the back porch and kitchen area of the structure. Captain Fletcher requested M.A.B.A.S. Box 11 to the Second Alarm Level for additional resources. Fire Companies quickly had the fire under control and remained on scene for several hours doing overhaul. No one was injured in the fire. Mt. Morris Fire would like to thank the Byron, Forreston, Leaf River, Polo, Stillman and Win-Bur-Sew Fire Districts for their hard work and help at the scene and Oregon Fire and Advance Ambulance for covering our empty firehouse.
