- Mt. Morris Fire responds mutual aid to Byron for a structure fire -
On April 12, 2011 the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District responded mutual aid to Byron to Union Street Station for a reported structure fire. Mt. Morris responded auto aid with a Squad Company and with a Truck Company and Chief to the scene and an Ambulance to cover Byron's empty Firehouse on a Second Alarm. Firefighters operated on the scene for several hours. Mt. Morris transported one of the firefighters from the scene to an area hospital for evaluation.
