Want to be part of our Team?
What if no
one cared, didn’t have time, or left the job for someone else to do......
Are you someone who would like to give something back
to the community? Are you someone who wants to accept the challenge of
helping someone out at the worst moments in their lives? Are you someone
who is looking to be part of a proud dedicated team? If you answered yes
to any of those questions, then maybe you are who we are looking for.
Becoming a volunteer
firefighter is a great way to fulfill those opportunities and so much more! You
will enjoy a sense of achievement, increased self respect, community and
personal recognition, the rewards that come from helping others when in need,
the opportunity to learn new skills and perfect others. Yes, firefighting is
very hard work. There will times were long hours are required, and work in
dark, dirty, cold, and hot conditions. Being a volunteer firefighter will never
make you monetarily rich. The payment comes from the pride you will have
in yourself and your organization. It comes from the feelings of friendship and
teamwork that you will enjoy. It’s in the heartfelt handshake of a grateful
homeowner, a mother’s tear of gratitude, a child’s awe as they see inside of a
real fire truck, and talk to a real firefighter. The smile of a friend or
neighbor who smiles and says “job well done”, and the time spent with follow
firefighters builds a sense of teamwork and accomplishment.
The Mt. Morris Fire Protection District is looking for volunteers to respond to
roughly 900 emergency calls for service each year. We are in need of mature,
healthy, responsible people who can carry out orders and train for leadership!
We have immediate openings! Training, tools, uniforms, and gear will be
provided. All we require is that you are 18 years old, live in the Mt.
Morris Fire Protection District, and have a valid Illinois Drivers License, with
no felonies on your record. Inquire within at anytime. This could be
your chance to fulfill your childhood dreams of riding on a fire truck,
squirting water from a hose, climbing ladders, or rescuing someone from danger!
