Mt. Morris Fire responded mutual aid to Leaf River Fire for a working structure fire on January 18th, 2004. The residence at 3110 W. Lightsville Rd. had fire venting from the roof on the Charlie side when Leaf River companies arrived. Mt. Morris supplied an Engine Co., a Heavy Rescue and a Chief, Companies  assisted with salvage and overhaul of the single story platform style home. Byron Fire supplied numerous companies for automatic aid.
